Sewer Overflows

Combined sewer overflows (CSOs) occur when storm water mixed with sewage overflows into the Maumee River, Ottawa River and Swan Creek. The City has developed and is in the process of implementing its Long Term Control Plan, which guides TWI in its work to significantly reduce the number and volume of these overflows. The plan utilizes sewer separation and storage projects to reduce the number of CSO outfalls.

This section includes a map showing the location of the CSO outfalls and monthly charts going back to July 2004 listing the dates of CSO overflows, their location and their duration.

The information below lists combined sewer overflows by date, location and duration. You may click on the CSO number below, or a CSO dot on the map, to see a more detailed locator map.
